News Sebastian Arcelus and Gerald McRaney Cast in Film Adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' "The Best Of Me" Stage and screen actors Sebastian Arcelus and Gerald McRaney have been cast in the film adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' "The Best Of Me," according to Deadline.com.

Arcelus (A Time to Kill, Elf, Jersey Boys, Good Vibrations, Wicked, Rent) and McRaney (Dividing the Estate) join a cast that includes James Marsden, Michelle Monaghan, Liana Liberato and Luke Bracey.

Directed by Michael Hoffman, "The Best Of Me" tells the story of Dawson and Amanda, two former high school sweethearts who find themselves reunited at a friend's funeral after 20 years apart.

Arcelus will play Frank, Amanda's husband and father of her children, and McRaney will play Tuck, a widower who becomes a friend and father figure to Dawson.

"The Best of Me" is penned by J. Mills Goodloe and rewritten by Hoffman and Will Fetters. Denise DiNovi, Sparks, Theresa Park and Alison Greenspan are producing alongside Relativity's Ryan Kavanaugh. Tucker Tooley is the executive producer.
