Second City, on Woodward Avenue, is in a converted former men's clothing store that also houses Risata Restaurant, a hockey-themed bar called The 5 Hole and The Deck, a rooftop club atop the building. The operation is located in Detroit's downtown theatre district, next door the restored Fox Theatre movie palace. Both Second City and the Fox are operated by Olympia Entertainment and the Ilitch family (owners of Little Caesars), which also owns the Detroit Tigers, the Detroit Red Wings and other entertainment outlets in Metro Detroit.

Both the Fox and Second City are steps away from the site of the future downtown stadiums for the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers.
