The Second City, the lucrative sketch comedy venture that began in Chicago and expanded to Toronto and Detroit will get another Great Lakes linked branch -- in Cleveland -- in 1999, Variety reported. Second City owner Andrew Alexander and real estate developer Buddy Krensler will be partners in the 400-seat cabaret theatre at 811 Prospect St. in Cleveland. The theatre will be open by summer, offering locally created satirical sketch comedy. As in other cities, acting classes and corporate seminars are expected in Ohio. Veterans of Second City stagings since the 1960s include Alan Alda, Alan Arkin, Gilda Radner, Martin Short, John Candy, Catherine O¹Hara and hundreds of others.
