Despite its dark subject matter onstage, romance is just breaking out all over at Broadway's Jekyll & Hyde. May 3, composer Frank Wildhorn married lead actress Linda Eder, followed by a three-week honeymoon in Hawaii. Then on Tuesday, June 9, J&H star Robert Cuccioli and his real-life girlfriend, Jodi Stevens, got to play a romantic couple onstage for the first time. Stevens plays various small roles in the musical, including housemaids and a bridesmaid. According to Cuccioli spokesperson Judy Katz, Stevens is also the second understudy for Eder, so when Eder needed to take a last-minute night off, June 9, Stevens stepped into the role of tormented Lucy, Hyde's great love and final victim.

Stevens had already gone on in the role at a couple of matinees, but those were played opposite the matinee Jekyll/Hyde, Robert Evan.
