News Second Season of "Damages," with Glenn Close, to Premiere in January 2009 "Damages," the FX legal thriller starring Tony-winning actress Glenn Close, will return for its second season Jan. 7, 2009.

As previously reported, Academy Award winner William Hurt, who co-starred with Close in "The Big Chill," will join Close for the second season of the television legal drama.

Close stars as powerful litigator Patty Hewes, with Hurt enlisted to appear as one of Hewes' clients. Todd A. Kessler, Glenn Kessler and Daniel Zelman created "Damages," which made its cable premiere July 24, 2007.

Among the theatre actors who appear on the series are Rose Byrne, Tate Donovan and Zeljko Ivanek, as well as guest stars including Tom Aldredge, Natalie Venetia Belcon, Philip Bosco, Peter Riegert, David Costabile, Maya Days, Michael Gaston, Kevin Isola, Michael Nouri, Saundra Santiago and Miriam Shor.

Glenn Close earned Tony Awards for her work in The Real Thing, Death and the Maiden and Sunset Boulevard. Close's stage credits also include her Tony-nominated performance in Barnum as well as Rex, The Member of the Wedding, The Crucifier of Blood and Benefactors. Her film appearances include "The Big Chill," "Fatal Attraction," "The Natural," "The World According to Garp," "Dangerous Liaisons," "Mars Attacks" and "Reversal of Fortune."
