Judith Ivey directs the play about three soccer moms on the sidelines of their kids' soccer games.

The production stars Caralyn Kozlowski, Nancy Ringham and Deborah Sonnenberg.

In the play, according to the producer, "three women leave their traditional spot on the sidelines to play in the annual mother-son soccer game. This ordinary day becomes extraordinary as the competition ignites their fierce desire to recapture their spirit, humor and passion. Secrets of a Soccer Mom takes a look at a part of life that is rarely explored on stage. It speaks to everyone, no matter age or gender, in attempting to answer that age old question: how in the world did I wind up here?"

Secrets of a Soccer Mom debuted as Soccer Moms at Fleetwood Stage in Westchester, NY, where Ivey also directed.

The new production features scenic design by Lex Liang, lighting design by Jeff Croiter, costume design by Elizabeth Flauto and sound design by Zach Williamson. The producer is A-Frame Productions.

Tony Award-winning actress Ivey is emerging as a busy, coveted director. Among her directorial credits is Clark's play, Southern Comforts, seen at Primary Stages. She is scheduled to direct the musical, Vanities, also about three women, in 2008-09 (Pasadena Playhouse this summer, followed by a hoped-for run on Broadway).

Her upcoming acting jobs include the Edward Albee-directed production of The Sandbox and The American Dream at The Cherry Lane Theatre, and playing Ann Landers in The Lady With All the Answers at Northlight Theatre in Skokie.

Snapple Theater Center, the home of the recently-closed revival of The Fantasticks is at 50th Street at Broadway.

Clark's Southern Comforts, directed by Ivey, was produced Off-Broadway in 2006-07 at Primary Stages with Penny Fuller and Larry Keith following a production at the Coconut Grove Playhouse with Hal Holbrook and Dixie Carter. Her Banner is scheduled for a production at the Hedgerow Theatre. Both Southern Comforts and Banner were developed at the Eugene O'Neill National Playwrights Conference. Southern Comforts and Secrets of a Soccer Mom are published by Samuel French. Clark previously worked as an associate in the theatrical producing office of Jane Harmon Associates.

Ivey is the recipient of the Tony Award, the Drama Desk Award, the Obie Award, and countless others for her stage and film work as an actress. Her directing credits include The Butcher of Baraboo (Second Stage Uptown), Fugue (Cherry Lane Theatre), Southern Comforts (Primary Stages), Bad Dates (Northlight Theatre, Chicago & Laguna Playhouse), Steel Magnolias (Alley Theatre), More (Union Square Theatre & Falcon Theatre, Los Angeles), Two For the Seesaw (Westport Playhouse), The Go-For-It Guy (Aspen Comedy Festival), and Soccer Moms (Fleetwood Stage).

The performance schedule includes many 11 AM matinees, perfect for what is apparently the target audience — moms with kids in school during the day.
