Urban Arts Partnership's annual gala AmplifiED took place at the Ziegfeld Ballroom April 16. Mike Yard and Emmy Award-winning actor Rory Albanese co-hosted the event, dedicated to raising money to fight injustice in public education. Once On This Island’s Alex Newell and The Color Purple Tony winner Cynthia Erivo performed as headliners of the evening.

Additional special guests included Danielle Brooks (The Color Purple, Orange Is the New Black), Geoffrey Arend (Madam Secretary), Amir Arison (The Blacklist), Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network), Cecily Strong (SNL), Tracie Thoms (Falsettos, Rent), Jenna Ushkowitz (Glee, Waitress), Diane Neal (Law and Order: SVU), Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels, and Sadat X.

The night honored Michael Kenneth Williams, a UAP Artistic Board member, activist, and actor; Marissa Shorenstein, the President of AT&T Northeast Region; and the Off-Broadway producer and UAP Board member, Niclas Nagler.
