Olivier Award winner Andy Karl, most recently on Broadway in a Tony-nominated turn in Groundhog Day, starred in a benefit reading of Jean Giebel's Chasing the River January 29.
Directed by Karen Carpenter, the reading was at the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre in The Pershing Square Signature Center. Proceeds benefited The Joyful Heart Foundation.
Raúl Castillo, Annie Golden, Melissa Gilbert, Deborah Rayne, and Adina Verson joined Karl in the play, which is set in a small town in Pennsylvania and concerns a young woman who returns home to the scene of the horrible events that changed the course of her life forever.
