Video See Jordan Fisher Sing 'If It's True' in Broadway's Hadestown

The Tony-winning musical continues at the Walter Kerr Theatre.

Broadway's newest Orpheus Jordan Fisher (most recently seen on Broadway as Anthony in the Tony-nominated revival of Sweeney Todd) joined the cast of the Tony-winning Hadestown November 20, and the star has already enchanted audiences in the role.

The actor, whose Broadway credits also include Dear Evan Hansen and Hamilton, succeeded original cast member Reeve Carney, who played his final performance as Orpheus November 19.

Those who have not yet travelled way down to Hadestown since Fisher took over can get a sneak peek of his take on the role with the video above, where he performs 'If It's True' onstage at the Walter Kerr Theatre.

“First, I must thank Reeve for the magic he made in ‘Orpheus,’” said Fisher, who is also known for his work in the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and Teen Beach Movie franchises, in an earlier statement. “An absolutely historic run and performance. His unrelenting heart and soul is deeply embedded in this role and in this story. I'm beyond honored and grateful for the opportunity to step in and steward such a beautifully crafted character. My wife, son, and I have been jamming to the cast album for a long time. It's been a dream to be able to join the party! Specifically in this role. This tale is one that truly must be told again and again.”

Hadestown currently stars Tony winner Lillias White as Hermes, Solea Pfeiffer as Eurydice, Betty Who as Persephone, and Phillip Boykin as Hades. They are joined by Lindsey Hailes, Belén Moyano, and Brit West as the Fates. The chorus of Workers is played by Emily Afton, Malcolm Armwood, Chibueze Ihumoa, Alex Puette, and Grace Yoo. The cast also includes swings Sojourner Brown, Brandon Cameron, Tara Jackson, Max Kumangai, Alex Lugo, and Tanner Ray Wilson.

Singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell’s folk- and jazz-infused musical layers the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice with that of Hades and Persephone, intertwining the actions—and consequences—of gods and mortals. Hadestown originally began as a theatrical concert performed by Mitchell.

The creative team features Tony-winning set designer Rachel Hauck, Tony-nominated costume designer Michael Krass, Tony-winning lighting designer Bradley King, Tony-winning sound designers Nevin Steinberg and Jessica Paz, choreographer David Neumann, and dramaturg Ken Cerniglia. Musical supervision and vocal arrangements are by Liam Robinson, with arrangements and orchestrations by Tony winners Michael Chorney and Todd Sickafoose.
