Following a workshop presentation earlier this year, the Fellowship for Performing Arts’ fully staged production of Martin Luther on Trial officially opened December 14. The new play, which began performances Off-Broadway December 2, places Luther before a witness panel that includes Martin Luther King Jr., Adolf Hitler, Sigmund Freud, Rabbi Josel, St. Paul, and Pope Francis. Luther's wife defends him and the Devil prosecutes.

Martin Luther on Trial is written by Chris Cragin-Day and FPA artistic director Max McLean. The production is directed by Michael Parva at the Pearl Theatre, located at 555 West 42nd Street.
