John Behlmann, Kevin Cahoon, and Andrew Durand celebrated their upcoming Broadway bow by giving out ears of corn.

Get ready for corn puns, because Shucked is officially Broadway bound. With the new musical's Broadway bow now official, director Jack O'Brien took to Times Square with cast members John Behlmann, Kevin Cahoon, and Andrew Durand to hand out ears of corn to likely confused passersby. O'Brien even wore a full corn costume.

But make no mistake; if there's any point to be found here, it's that Shucked begins previews at the Nederlander Theatre March 8, 2023, with opening night set for April 4. The new original "farm-to-fable musical" promises to "turn Broadway on its ear and offer a kernel of hope for our divided nation," according to its press notes.

The writing team of Shucked includes a book by Robert Horn (Tootsie, 13) and a score by Nashville-based songwriting team Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally. Three-time Tony winner and stage comedy expert O'Brien (Hairspray, The Front Page) is at the helm.

Along with Behlmann, Cahoon, and Durand, Shucked will star Caroline Innerbichler (Frozen), Ashley D. Kelley (Bella: An American Tall Take), and Alex Newell (Once On This Island, Glee).

Shucked will also feature choreography by Sarah O'Gleby; music supervision, music direction, orchestrations, and arrangements by Jason Howland; scenic design by Scott Pask, costumes by Tilly Grimes, lighting by Japhy Weideman, sound by John Shivers, and hair and wig design by Mia Neal. Casting is by Stephen Kopel of C12 Casting.
