News Seeing Double Again: Aquila Brings Comedy of Errors Back to NYC June 1-22, in Tandem With Othello Aquila Theatre Company, the Brit-U.S. hybrid troupe, will present its wacky Turkish-flavored Comedy of Errors on four Tuesdays in June, starting June 1, during the Off-Broadway run of its Othello.

Peter Meineck (producing artistic director) and Robert Richmond (associate artistic director) of Aquila announced May 21 that the troupe's popular production will return June 1, 8, 15 and 22.

A "mad romp of an evening, set in 1930s Turkey," Aquila's Comedy of Errors (they left the "a" out of the title) was popular in New York in summer 2002, and played the La Jolla Playhouse in 2003.

The cast (which also played the La Jolla run), includes Richard Willis (Antipholous of Syracuse), Sheridan Willis (Antipholous of Ephesus), Louis Butelli (Dromio of Syracuse), John Butelli (Dromio of Ephesus), Lisa Carter (Adriana), Lindsay Rae Taylor (Luciana), Andrew Schwartz (Solinus, Angelo, Goaler), Heather Murdock (Nell, Courtesan, Emilia), Alex Webb (Egeon, Balthasar, Pinch). Music is by Anthony Cochrane. It was "adapted and directed by Robert Richmond" and "created by Peter Meineck and Robert Richmond." The text has been trimmed, and the word  "the" has been excised from the title (no longer The Comedy of Errors, but just Comedy of Errors.)

The program of the show indicates the twins of the plot are played by actual twins, but the Aquila show folk are only kidding: Fakes bios and names have been created. Louis Butelli and Richard Willis are working double duty playing their own twins, a rare casting decision for the breakneck speed comedy.

Performances are 8 PM at Baruch Performing Arts Center. Tickets ($45) are available through Tele-charge (212) 239-6200. *

A special two-play subscription for Aquila's Othello and The Man Who Would Be King ($50 for both plays) is available by phone at (212) 998-8017 or visiting www.aquilatheatre.com.

Baruch Performing Arts Center is located on 25th Street between Lexington and Third Avenues.
