News Set for West End's Chimerica Breaks Down, Leading to Cancellation; Performances to Resume Aug. 22 The revolving set for Lucy Kirkwood's Chimerica, which has newly transferred from the Almeida Theatre to the West End's Harold Pinter Theatre, broke down during the matinee performance Aug. 21, leading to that performance being halted and canceled.

The evening performance Aug. 21 was also canceled. According to a press statement issued Aug. 21, "At today’s matinee of Chimerica at the Harold Pinter Theatre during Act 2 there were some technical difficulties with the revolve and sadly the show had to be stopped. As a result tonight’s performance has had to be cancelled so all safety checks can be fully carried out before resuming performances tomorrow. Customers are being contacted now and will be offered exchanges or refunds."

A press spokesperson informed Playbill.com, "We are 100% confirmed to resume performances tonight."

Directed by Lyndsey Turner, it is designed by Es Devlin with costumes by Christina Cunningham, lighting by Tim Lutkin, sound by Carolyn Downing and video design by Finn Ross.

The original cast includes Stephen Campbell Moore as the photojournalist Joe, Benedict Wong, Claudie Blakley, Elizabeth Chan, Vera Chok, Karl Collins, Trevor Cooper, Nancy Crane, Sean Gilder, Sarah Lam and Andrew Leung, all of whom reprise their roles in the West End.
