L.A. Theatreworks, the resident comedy troupe at the Bitter Truth Theatre, has opened a new show, Shakespeare Unscripted, which is running every Friday evening at 8 PM through Nov. 3. The show leaps headlong into the 17th century without a net, using only audience suggestions to create "the greatest play ever written." Wherever possible, classical literary conventions are observed, such as iambic pentameter and Shakespearean story structure. The format challenges even the most skilled improv actor and provides extra fun for the audience.

Each week, nine actors are chosen from a pool that includes Forrest Brakeman, Karl Coleman, Tracy Connor, Adrienne Corcoran, Justin Bowler, Tracy Burns, Robert Covarrubias, Ron Darien, John X. Heart, Ron Hippe, Danny Hartigan, Richard Gadas, Debbie Lockhart, Joseph Limbaugh, Barb Klansnic, Doug Langdale, Dan O'Connor (the company's artistic director), Katharine Mills, Michael McShane, Myra Jo Martino, Lauren Pritchard, Doreen Remo, Morgan Russell, Kristina Robbins, John Rosen, Sue Peahie, Jesus Romero, Michele Spears, Mark Tracy, Allison Sweeney, Floyd VanBuskirk, Chris Vose and Wylie Withers.

Other TheatreSports shows at Bitter Truth include: Extreme TheatreSports, improv comedy as blood sport, Friday at 10 PM; The Hell Show, doomed sinners desperately improvising a Broadway show to save their souls, Saturday at 8 PM; Moral Kombat, improv tackling moral issues of the day, Saturday at 10 PM; and Micetro, directors guiding 14 actors through improv challenges, Sunday at 7 PM.
