News Shakespeare's Pericles Gets Multimedia Production at A.R.T. in MA, May 10-June 28 Using film, video and special effects, American Repertory Theatre creates the world of William Shakespeare's Pericles, May 10-June 28. The production will run in repertory with Philip Glass and David Henry Hwang's The Sound of a Voice at the Loeb Drama Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Shakespeare’s tale of romance is centered on the Prince of Tyre who is in search of a wife. The drama follows Pericles on many seabound adventures, depicted in this production by the use of multimedia. Andrei Serban directs.

Robert Sella, who has appeared on Broadway in Cabaret and Side Man, tackles the title role. The cast of A.R.T.'s Pericles also includes Thomas Derrah, Jeremy Geidt, Will LeBow, Karen MacDonald, Remo Airaldi, Pascale Armand, Yolande Bavan, Mia Yoo, Curtis August, Georgia Hatzis, Jason Kaufman, Emily Knapp and Gilbert Owuor.

The design team includes Dan Nutu (set and video), Gabriel Berry (costume), Beverly Emmons (lighting) and David Remedios (sound).

Serban has directed at A.R.T. for over twenty years including productions of Lysistrata, The Merchant of Venice, The Taming of the Shrew, The King Stag, Three Sisters, The Juniper Tree, The Miser, Twelfth Night, The Good Woman of Setzuan, Sganarelle, and Sweet Table at the Richelieu. Other directorial credits include works at such New York stages as La MaMa E.T.C. and the New York Shakespeare Festival.
