The 2011 concerts, which boasted Lea Salonga and Eden Espinosa, celebrated the grand opening of the Shanghai Culture Square Theatre that was designed as a destination for musical theatre productions.
The return engagement will feature Young (Jesus Christ Superstar), Ellis (Wicked), as well as Ria Jones (Les Miserables) and Mark Evans (Ghost). Performances will run through Oct. 28.
The soloists are joined by 10 ensemble members from London, including Luke Baker, Michelle Bishop, Frances Dee, Callum Francis, Robert Knight, Sean Mulligan, Lucy St Louis, Philippa Stefani, Jayde Westaby and Drew Weston. A 20-member local ensemble and a 43-piece orchestra complete the production.
The concerts are directed by Paul Warwick Griffin, choreographed by Ashley Wallen, designed by Andrew Botha and conducted by Bjorn Dobbelaere.
