News Sharon Playhouse in Connecticut Names Justin Ball as Managing Director TriArts Sharon Playhouse, under the leadership of artistic director John Simpkins, has announced the hiring of Justin Ball as managing director. He will join the Playhouse in February 2014.

"We felt Justin would be the perfect match for the Sharon Playhouse and our future plans," said artistic director Simpkins in a statement. "We were impressed with his energy, enthusiasm, and ideas for continued growth. I'm looking forward to introducing him to our community in CT and around the theatrical community." Ball has worked as a producer, director and arts educator in New York City for over ten years. Most recently, he served as the producer and administrator for the Meisner Studio at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Ball has worked for both Manhattan Theater Club and Playwrights Horizons, where he produced major fundraising events including MTC's Spring Gala. As producing artistic director for the Grid Theater Company, he produced and directed world premieres of Things Beyond Our Control by Jesse Kellerman, Dogs by Norman Lasca and a reinterpretation of Sam Shepard and Joseph Chaikin's Savage/Love, a devised theatre/dance piece at the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He continues to serve as an adjunct faculty member at Playwrights Horizons Theater School at NYU where he teaches producing and theatre management.

Sharon Playhouse also recently hired its first director of youth theatre and education, Roxy Schoenfeld, a New York City-based teaching artist and coach.
