News Shaw Fest and IATSE Reach Tentative Agreement George Bernard Shaw, who was concerned with issues of fairness and social justice, would be pleased with this news: The Shaw Festival and IATSE Local 461 announced on March 19 that a marathon bargaining session has led to a tentative agreement for a collective agreement for the festival's Facilities Department, and tentative renewal agreements for the Production and Audience Sales and Services Departments.

On March 10, the Shaw Festival announced that it was implementing a lockout of the employees represented by IATSE, Local 461 in the Facilities Department — 16 employees who provide maintenance, grounds crew and housekeeping services. The lockout was limited to the Facilities Department. The tentative agreements will be voted on by the bargaining units shortly. IATSE Local 461 and its bargaining team is recommending the ratification of all three tentative agreements.

The Shaw Festival operates April-November on three stages in Niagara-the-Lake, Ontario.
