The reading, presented by Gingold Theatrical Group’s Shaw New York 2013, will be directed by David Staller and feature Tony winner Nikki M. James (The Book of Mormon, All Shook Up), Tony winner Harriet Harris (Cinderella, Present Laughter), Jose Llana (Here Lies Love), Mick O’Brien, Robin Miles (The Violet Hour), Max Gordon Moore (Relatively Speaking), Jaspal Binning and Jeremy Webb. "This new comedy follows a young woman determined to come to terms with a past that may or may not be true," press notes state.
Otherland was commissioned by Gingold Theatrical Group as part of its new play development program, Press Cuttings, which takes its cue from George Bernard Shaw's history of transitioning from theatre critic to playwright. All writers in this program are arts journalists with a strong background in playwriting.
