The Telecharge website says that Shayne will follow long-time Chicago favorite Charlotte d'Amboise, who concludes her latest run as Roxie June 12. Shayne is scheduled to play the role of the merry murderess for one week, June 13-21. "Trading Spaces" host Paige Davis then assumes the role, playing June 22-Aug. 8.

Tracy Shayne made her Broadway debut in the Tony-winning musical A Chorus Line. She also played Christine in Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, and she succeeded Judy Kuhn in the role of Cosette in the Broadway company of Les Misérables. Shayne previously played the role of Chicago's Roxie Hart in April 2003.

The Chicago company currently stars d'Amboise as Roxie Hart, Pia Douwes as Velma Kelly, P. J. Benjamin as Amos Hart, Roz Ryan as Matron "Mama" Morton, D. Sabella as Mary Sunshine and Christopher Sieber as Billy Flynn. Tom Wopat begins his role as slick lawyer Flynn May 2, and Brenda Braxton returns as Velma Kelly May 16.

Chicago won the Tony for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997 as well as awards for actors Bebe Neuwirth and James Naughton, director Walter Bobbie, lighting designer Ken Billington and choreographer Ann Reinking. The original production was directed and choreographed by the late Bob Fosse.

The Ambassador Theatre is located at 215 West 49th Street.
