News She Can't Believe She Said That! Goes Live at NYMF Sept. 26 Company's Heather Laws is talk-show host Kathie Lee Gifford in the New York Musical Theatre Festival production of She Can't Believe She Said That!, which begins performances Sept. 26.

Josh Hecht (Christine Jorgensen Reveals) directs the NYMF production — featuring book, music and lyrics by Matt Prager — that runs through Oct. 5 at the TBG Theatre.

Joining Laws onstage are Brian Gallagher as Kathie Lee's first husband, Paul, Charles Karel (Dear World) as Regis Philbin, Jan Pessano as Anita Bryant, Rob Sheridan as Frank Gifford, Paul Anthony Stewart (Fiddler on the Roof) as Larry Gatlin and Tia Zorne (Beauty and the Beast) as the Therapist.

The ensemble for comprises Laura Beth Wells, Daryl Getman, Dustienne Miller and Patrick O'Neill.

She Can't Believe She Said That! "recounts the true story of talk show hostess Kathie Lee Gifford. The show covers a 30-year time span, and, thematically, uses the story of someone often accused of being fake in order to examine the mechanisms by which we define our identities," according to press notes.

Laws, who most recently appeared as Amy in the lauded 2006 revival of Company, has appeared on Broadway in Cabaret and The Boy from Oz. She Can't Believe She Said That! has music direction by Howard Levitsky, orchestrations by Frank Perri and choreography by Tara Jeanne Vallee.

The design team includes Raquel Davis (lighting design), Tei Blow (sound design), Robin Vest (scenic design), Jacob Hanson (properties), Ryan Rossetto (costume design) and Aaron Rhyne (video/projection design).
