The acclaimed singing actresses will join the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra for three concerts Nov. 20-22 at the Hilbert Circle Theatre in downtown Indianapolis. Show times are Nov. 20-21 at 8 PM and Nov. 22 at 7 PM. The concerts, according to press notes, will feature "new orchestrations and charts, retrospective career overtures, clip reels, personal anecdotes, first time duets, and classic songs."
Additional tour dates are expected.
On Broadway, Henderson was seen in Wish You Were Here, Fanny and The Girl Who Came to Supper, and she also starred in the national tour of The Sound of Music. Best known as Carol Brady on TV's "The Brady Bunch," Henderson's other screen credits include "The Love Boat," "Glitter," "Finder of Lost Loves," "Murder, She Wrote," "Roseanne," "Ally McBeal" and "For Heaven's Sake." She was a co-host of NBC's "Later Today," and was recently seen in the film "Venus and Vegas."
Shirley Jones appeared in the Broadway productions of South Pacific, Maggie Flynn and 42nd Street, but is best known for her work on the small and silver screens. She was the matriarch of "The Partridge Family" and also starred in the films of "Oklahoma," "Carousel" and "The Music Man." Jones won an Academy Award for her performance in "Elmer Gantry."
