Sian Thomas Steps Into Welcome Home, Captain Fox! at Donmar Warehouse | Playbill

News Sian Thomas Steps Into Welcome Home, Captain Fox! at Donmar Warehouse Sian Thomas is to step into the cast for Welcome Home, Captain Fox!, a new version of Jean Anouilh's Le Voyageur Sans Bagage, replacing the originally announced Francesca Annis who according to press materials has "regrettably had to withdraw from the production for personal reasons."

The production begins peformances at the Donmar Warehouse Feb. 18 prior to an official opening March 1, for a run through April 16.

Blanche McIntyre directs a cast that also features Michelle Asante, Barnaby Kay, Rory Keenan, Katherine Kingsley, Trevor Laird, Danny Webb, Fenella Woolgar and Daniel York.

Playwright Anthony Weigh has updated Anouilh's riotous family drama to a long, hot summer, on the very tip of Long Island in 1959. While the Cold War rages and America tunes into "I Love Lucy!," Captain Jack Fox, believed missing in action in the fields of France 15 years before, is about to be reunited with his family in The Hamptons. But is this really Jack Fox? And if it isn't, who is this man? And why are there 22 other families so intent on claiming him as their own?

Weigh was previously represented at the Donmar by The Silence of the Sea, staged as part of the Donmar Trafalgar season, and Josie Rourke, the Donmar's current artistic director, previously directed his play 2,000 Feet Away at the Bush Theatre when she was at the helm there.

Thomas, who now plays Mrs Fox, returns to the Donmar after appearing in Richard II in 2011. Her theatre work includes The Trial (Young Vic), Passion Play (Duke of York’s) and Spring Awakening (Lyric Hammersmith/West End).
