New Work New Work 1 will kick off at 9:30 PM and will premiere a dozen new songs from the composer. The evening, along with the entire residency, is under the helm of stage director Sam Buntrock.

During the residency, Joe’s Pub will be an incubator for Horne’s creative efforts and will function as a launching pad for material that will be used in his future projects. The residency marks a homecoming of sorts for Horne, who was part of Joe’s Pub’s inaugural year of programming. He and “musical husband” Cumming have performed numerous times on the downtown stage.

The second installment, New Work New Work 2: The Night Before My Wedding, will be an entirely new work devised from the unpublished love poems of Neil Gaiman to Amanda Palmer (February 5, 2017); the third, New Work New Work 3, will showcase Horne’s rock side featuring new music and guests (date TBD); and New Work New Work 4 will feature an original musical theatre piece devised by Horne and Buntrock (date also TBD).

Tickets for November 21 are available online, by phone at (212) 967-7555, and in person at The Public Theater’s Taub Box Office located at 425 Lafayette Street, New York.
