The staging will be directed by Tony winner Fugard, with a cast made up of Leon Addison Brown (The Painted Rocks at Revolver Creek), Tony nominee Sahr Ngaujah (FELA!) and Noah Robbins (Grease Live!). Performances will take place at The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center, with an official opening night slated for November 7.

“Master Harold” … and the Boys takes place inside a small tea shop occupied by two black men and a young white boy. “[They] joke and dance together, defying the brutalities of apartheid through their joyous love,” state production notes. “But festering issues of family, race, and power are not so easy to ignore, and a single phone call can trigger catastrophe.”

The design team for “Master Harold” … and the Boys includes Christopher H. Barreca (scenic design), Susan Hilferty (costume design), Stephen Strawbridge (lighting design), John Gromada (sound design) and Barbara Rubin (dialect coach). Linda Marvel is the production stage manager. Casting is by Telsey + Company.
