Variety reports that the adaptation of the classic animated Disney film will premiere Feb. 22 at Disneyland's Fantasyland Theater in a production that features choreography by Karma Camp, Schaeffer's longtime associate; as well as a libretto by Darrah Cloud, costumes by Ellen McCartney and scenery by Tom Butsch. The entertainment is being created by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Creative Entertainment. Anne Hamburger, the executive vice-president of the company, told the industry paper, "In creating this production, we are aware of having to bring a storytelling style that current audiences have come to expect of musicals, as well as to fully create the world of 'Snow White' for the stage."

Eric Schaeffer is the co-founder and artistic director of Signature Theatre. During that time, he has directed productions of 110 in the Shade, The Gospel According to Fishman, Grand Hotel, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, The Rhythm Club, Over & Over, Working, Taking My Life in Your Hands, Cabaret, First Lady Suite, Wings, Poor Superman, Unidentified Human Remains and the True Nature of Love and the American premiere of The Fix. He has also staged numerous Stephen Sondheim musicals for the Signature: Sunday in the Park with George, Into the Woods, Company, Assassins, Sweeney Todd and, most recently, Follies.

Schaeffer served as the artistic director for the Kennedy Center's Sondheim Celebration and also directed two of the summer's six productions: Passion and Sunday in the Park with George. He also directed the Broadway mounting of Putting It Together starring Carol Burnett and George Hearn.
