Playwright Neil Simon and producer Emanuel Azenberg will appear on the popular PBS show, "Theater Talk," Oct. 29. The connection? The new Broadway comedy The Dinner Party, penned by the former and produced by the latter. They join "Theatre Talk" hosts Michael Riedel, theatre columnist and reporter of The New York Post, and Susan Haskins.
Also a guest on the program will be humorist and sometime Off-Broadway actor Bruce Vilanch, who will deliver his trenchant and, no doubt, comic take on the coming Broadway season.
The show airs Oct. 19 at midnight on Channel 13 in New York City.
Future guests will include:
• Oct. 26: Playwright Gore Vidal (The Best Man).
• Nov. 2: Playwright David Auburn (Proof) and director Daniel Sullivan; Playbill On-Line editor Robert Simonson and Time Out New York theatre editor Jason Zinoman. Other expected guests include director Jonathan Kent, playwright Warren Leight and actress Marion Seldes.
"Theatre Talk" is now in its fifth season. This year, the program will be seen on Thirteen/WNET, WGBH/Boston (PBS affiliate), CCIT in Hartford, and as part of MetroArts/Thirteen on Cablevision’s Metro channels.
