The New York premiere of Simon Stephens’ Olivier Award-winning On the Shore of the Wide World officially opens September 12 in a production from Atlantic Theater Company. The newest work from The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time playwright explores themes of love, family, and the size of the galaxy.
Performances of On the Shore of the Wide World began Off-Broadway August 23. The play is running in Atlantic Theater Company’s Linda Gross Theater.
Neil Pepe directs a cast made up of Tony Award winner Blair Brown (Copenhagen), Odiseas Georgiadis (All We Had), Peter Maloney (Dying For It), Mary McCann (Bluebird, Harper Regan), LeRoy McClain (Cymbeline), Tedra Millan (Present Laughter), Ben Rosenfield (Twin Peaks; Love, Love, Love), Wesley Zurick (Off Broadway debut), C.J. Wilson (Hold on to Me Darling), and Amelia Workman (The Layover).
The production features scenic design by Scott Pask, costume design by Sarah Laux, lighting design by Christopher Akerlind, original music and sound design by David Van Tieghem, and casting by Telsey + Co. William Cantler, CSA, Adam Caldwell, CSA, and Karyn Casl, CSA.
