Broadway and cabaret star Jason Graae finishes off his nights of self-love called, appropriately (with a wink), An Evening of Self-Indulgence Aug. 20 at Los Angeles' Cinegrill. Performances began Aug. 16. Actress Heather Lee (Guys & Dolls, Beauty and the Beast) directs with Gerry Sternbach as musical director and pianist.

Before performances began, Graae didn't reveal much about his sixty minute set, except that he would sing selections from his newest release, "You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile: Jason Graae Sings Charles Strouse." Merely, An Evening of Self-Indulgence will be, as the release states, "a self serving journey to God knows where."

With bi-coastal credits, Graae did Broadway's Falsettos, A Grand Night for Singing, Stardust, Snoopy and Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up? and Los Angeles productions of Forbidden BroadwayY2KLA, Forbidden Hollywood, Ragtime and the Reprise! staged readings of Of Thee I Sing and The Boys From Syracuse opposite David Hyde Pierce. Graae will be taking his act to New York City's Firebird Club in Oct., will release a second solo CD in 2001 and has filmed a role in "On Edge," a mockumentary of the women's figure skating world, to be released in the future.
