Having established his theatre credentials in the 1993 Off-Broadway revue, Cabariety and later in the long-running San Francisco hit, Beach Blanket Babylon , five-time MAC Award winner Tom Andersen will appear at the Firebird in January and February.
Performance dates for Andersen's return engagement at the Firebird are Jan. 28, 29 and Feb. 4, 5, 11 and 12. His last run at the Firebird sold out.
At the Firebird, Andersen will perform material by Irving Berlin, Jule Styne, Stephen Sondheim and Frank Wildhorn. Production notes indicate that Andersen's signature song, Wildhorn's "Storybook" from The Scarlet Pimpernel, is a song he was performing four years prior to the show reaching Broadway.
A singer and songwriter, Andersen has been honored by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs, (MAC) five times. His awards were for New York Debut (1993), Outstanding Male Vocalist (1996), Song of the Year -- "Yard Sale" -- (1998) and the MAC Award for Recording (1999).
