Anyone who purchases a ticket to a participating Broadway or Off-Broadway show for that night gets to attend a free pre-show cocktail party at Madame Tussauds New York from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM and an after-show party at one of three restaurants — Trattoria Dopo Teatro, Zanzibar or T New York.
The League of American Theatres and Producers is launching the program, which is aimed at singles in New York City and throughout the tri-state area. Partygoers must be age 21 or older.
Participating Broadway shows include The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, A Chorus Line, Chicago, Company, The Drowsy Chaperone, Grey Gardens, Hairspray, Journey's End, Les Misérables, The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, Monty Python's Spamalot, The Phantom of the Opera, The Producers, Spring Awakening, Talk Radio, Tarzan and Wicked. The Off-Broadway shows include The Fantasticks, Mayumana and Stomp.
Singles’ Night participants can enter a raffle to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, a charity through which members of the theatre community raise funds for AIDS-related causes.
Tickets for Singles' Night officially go on sale Jan. 19. Beginning that day, those who wish to purchase tickets can visit www.SinglesNightOnBroadway.com or call 1-888-Broadway. Tickets can also be purchased via the individual theatre box offices, and ticket buyers who use that method should use the Singles' Night promotional code SNGL07. Theatregoers who already have tickets for Feb. 28 should RSVP to the Singles' Night events via the website or 1-888-Broadway. In all of the above cases, the theatre tickets will serve as admission to the parties. In the coming weeks, the League will announce another new pilot program, Women's Night on Broadway.
