PlayBlog Soft-shoe to Softball: Broadway Show League Season Nears The Addams Family's Wednesday Addams and Million Dollar Quartet's Jerry Lee Lewis may turn a double play on American Idiot's St. Jimmy and Whatshername. The new season of softball for the Broadway Show League is about to start.


The league — which pits stage actors, theater organizations, unions and crews against each other — will begin regular season games April 29 in Central Park. Opening Day ceremonies are slated for May 13 with an All-Star/Celebration Day scheduled for July 1.

Games are played at the Heckscher Ballfields and the Great Lawn inside the New York City greenery.

Among the shows scheduled to hit the diamond this season are The Addams Family, American Idiot, Blue Man Group, Billy Elliot, Hair, In The Heights, Jersey Boys, Lend Me A Tenor, The Lion King, Mary Poppins, Memphis, Million Dollar Quartet, The Phantom of the Opera, Rock of Ages, South Pacific, West Side Story and Wicked.
