News   Solis Drama Lydia Will Play Yale Repertory Theatre
The Yale Repertory Theatre will stage the East Coast premiere of Octavio Solis' Lydia, which will begin performances Feb. 6.

Juliette Carrillo is signed to direct the Texas-set work that will officially open Feb. 12 and continue through Feb. 28.

The cast of Lydia will include Carlo Albán, Christian Barillas, Stephanie Beatriz, Armando Durán, Catalina Maynard, Onahoua Rodriguez and Tony Sancho.

"The Flores family welcomes Lydia, an undocumented maid, into their El Paso home to care for their daughter Ceci, who was tragically disabled in a car accident on the eve of her quinceañera, her fifteenth birthday. Lydia's immediate and seemingly miraculous bond with the girl sets the entire family on a mysterious and shocking journey of discovery. Lydia is an unflinching and deeply emotional portrait of a Mexican immigrant family caught in a web of dark secrets," read Yale press notes.

The Yale production will feature original music by Chris Webb, sets by Andrew Boyce, costumes by Amanda Seymour, lighting by Jesse Belsky, fight direction by Rick Sordelet, with sound design, additional music and arrangements by David Molina.

Tickets are available by visiting, by calling (203) 432-1234 or by visiting the Yale Rep box office (1120 Chapel Street). *
