Susan Soon He Stanton, whose play Today is my Birthday will debut at the New Ohio Theatre November, is set to have another world premiere Off-Broadway this fall: Solstice Party!, a drama that explores themes of groupthink and betrayal. The new play sees a group of friends gather in upstate New York for the summer solstice and is eerily billed as “a Jonestown parable for the Trump era.”

“What begins as a casual, fun weekend quickly devolves into something more sinister; a power-struggle and then a game of survival that is by turns bizarre and shocking,“ read production notes.

Solstice Party! is produced Off-Broadway by Live Source Theatre Group with direction by Tyler Mercer. Performances will run November 2–19 at the A.R.T./New York Theatres.

Live Source Theatre Group is an Off-Broadway company of multidisciplinary artists focused on innovative design and technology in the theatre. The group’s mission is to elevate the role of designers in the development of new works.
