News Some Public Seats Will Be Available for Schoenfeld Memorial
As previously announced, a memorial will be held this month in honor of late Shubert Organization Chairman Gerald Schoenfeld, who died Nov. 25, 2008, at his home in Manhattan.

The Feb. 9 memorial is scheduled to begin at 1 PM at the Majestic Theatre, the current home of Broadway's longest-running musical, The Phantom of the Opera. Major names in the Broadway community are expected to be part of the afternoon.

It was announced Feb. 3 that a limited number of seats will be available to the general public on a first-come, first-served basis Feb. 9 at the Majestic.

The Majestic Theatre is located at 247 West 44th Street.

Mr. Schoenfeld, a man routinely referred to as the most powerful man on Broadway, died suddenly at the age of 84. To read's complete obituary about the legendary producer and theatre owner, click here.
