London News Something Rotten! Will Make U.K. Debut With 3 Concerts at London's Theatre Royal Drury Lane

Tim Jackson will direct a cast led by Jason Manford.

The 2015 Broadway musical Something Rotten! will play three concerts at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane this summer, the work's U.K. debut.

Directed by Tim Jackson (Two Strangers Carry A Cake Across New York), performances of Something Rotten! in Concert are scheduled for August 5 at 7:30 PM and August 6 at 2:30 PM and 7:30 PM.

Jason Manford (The Producers, The Wizard of Oz) will star as Nick Bottom with additional casting to be announced. The artists will be back by the London Musical Theatre Orchestra, conducted by Freddie Tapner (Love Never Dies, Chess).

Created by Karey Kirkpatrick, John O'Farrell, and Wayne KirkpatrickSomething Rotten! follows the story of Renaissance writers Nick and Nigel Bottom as they seek to outshine Shakespeare by writing the world’s first musical.

The musical opened on Broadway April 22, 2015, playing 32 previews and 708 regular performances at the St. James Theatre. The production earned 10 Tony nominations, including one for Best Musical. Christian Borle won the Tony for his performance as Shakespeare.

Something Rotten! in Concert is produced by Fourth Wall Live, JAS Theatricals, and the London Musical Theatre Orchestra in association with Alchemation.
