CSPAN2 will be featuring Stephen Sondheim in their Random House monthly series of Literary Breakfasts, part of the station's weekend block of time devoted to literature, titled, "About Books." This month's topic is "Words: The Use and Abuse of Language." Random House Publisher and President Harry Evans hosts the event. Other panelists include comic essayist Roy Blount Jr., columnist and "Firing Line" host William F. Buckley, African-American novelist "Sapphire," Random House editor Jess Sheidlower, and New York Times Columnist and former Executive Editor, A.M. Rosenthal.
According to C-Span spokesperson Marge Amey, the program will air Sunday, February 16 at 9:00 PM and repeat at midnight (All times are Eastern) on the cable station, CSPAN2.
Sondheim's latest musical, Wise Guys, won't come to Washington DC until fall 1997 at the earliest. Previous credits include Company, Sweeney Todd, Into The Woods, Passion, Assassins, Merrily We Roll Along and Pacific Overtures.
