News Sondheim to Receive First SAGE Lifetime Achievement in Theatre Award Services and Advocacy for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Elders (SAGE) will honor Tony Award-winning composer-lyricist Stephen Sondheim with the first SAGE Lifetime Achievement in Theatre Award April 14.

Sondheim will receive the award at a special reception taking place from 6-7:30 PM at Brasserie Cognac.

Following the ceremony, guests are invited to a performance of Sondheim on Sondheim, the Roundabout Theatre Company's revue at Studio 54, which features live performances of the composer-lyricist's collection of songs, along with video interviews with Sondheim covering his life and career.

Brasserie Cognac is located at 1740 Broadway at 55th Street. Studio 54 is located at 254 West 54th Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue. Tickets range from $185 (performance only) to $3,000 (four tickets to the reception and performance, as well as promotional recognition). SAGE is the oldest and largest non-profit organization in the world that is dedicated to serving the older LGBT community. The group became the first official LGBT delegates at a White House conference on aging in 2005, and is the first LGBT member of the Leadership Council of Aging Organizations.
