Songs of The Capeman," a studio album showcasing the score of the forthcoming Paul Simon Broadway musical, is scheduled for release Nov. 18 on Warner Bros.

Singers on the album include composer Paul Simon plus Broadway leads Marc Anthony, Ruben Blades and Ednita Nazario.

Songs include: "Born in Puerto Rico" (sung by Simon), "Satin Summer Nights," "Bernadette," "Sunday Afternoon," "Time Is An Ocean," "Last Drop of Blood" and "Carlos & Yolanda."

The show and that album will be the subjects of a five-part series on ABC-TV's "Good Morning America" show Nov. 17-21.

A formal original cast album will be recorded after the opening and released in 1998, according to production spokesman John Barlow. With music by Simon; book and lyrics co-written by Simon and Derek Walcott, The Capeman is scheduled to start previews Dec. 1 and open Jan. 8, 1998 at the Minskoff Theatre, where the marquee for the show has already gone up.

The Ragtime score was released in a similar "songs from" CD, and also plans an official original cast album following the January 1998 opening.
