Directed by Tom Oppenheim, grandson of Stella Adler, the cast features Betsy Parrish (Deathtrap) and Elizabeth Shepherd (Inherit the Wind). The world premiere, according to press notes, concerns "an assimilated Jewish family in 1958, suburban Connecticut whose lives are turned upside down when the father is passed over for a promotion because of their Judaism."
Nickowitz also penned The Alex Complex, which made its world premiere in the Cherry Lane Theater last year as part of the 12th Annual New York International Fringe Festival.
Show times are June 20, 24, 25, 26, 27 and 29 at 8 PM and June 21 and 28 at 7 PM.
The Stella Adler Studio is located in Manhattan at 31 West 27th Street (between Broadway and Sixth Avenue). Tickets are $10 each; call (212) 689-0087 for reservations.
