New York's Minetta Lane Theatre may have Oscar Wilde in Gross Indecency, but Sony no doubt hopes for indecent grosses when a new film biography of Wilde opens in NY May 1. According to Variety, Brian Gilbert's film, Wilde, will star English actor Stephen Fry (TV's "Blackadder") as Wilde and Jude Law as his young love, Lord Alfred. Also in the cast are Vanessa Redgrave (as Wilde's mum), Jennifer Ehle, Gemma Jones, Judy Parfitt, Zoe Wanamaker and Tom Wilkinson. Sony Classics will distributed Wilde, which is produced by Marc and Peter Samuelson.
