De los Angeles made her debut at Barcelona's Liceu in 1944 as the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro, and by 1951 had appeared at the Paris Op_ra, Covent Garden, La Scala, and the Metropolitan Opera. She sang at major opera houses around the world, as well as appearing in concert, singing the German, Spanish, and French song repertoire. She retired from performing in 1998.
