Classic Arts News Soprano Victoria de los Angeles Hospitalized in Barcelona The 81-year-old operatic soprano Victoria de los Angeles has been hospitalized in her native Barcelona, the Associated Press reports.
According to the AP, de los Angeles has reportedly been suffering from bronchitis, but her family has asked the hospital not to release details about her illness.

De los Angeles made her debut at Barcelona's Liceu in 1944 as the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro, and by 1951 had appeared at the Paris Op_ra, Covent Garden, La Scala, and the Metropolitan Opera. She sang at major opera houses around the world, as well as appearing in concert, singing the German, Spanish, and French song repertoire. She retired from performing in 1998.
