The new musical about late controversial musician Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach opened on Broadway Aug. 15 at Circle in the Square. Drama Desk nominee Anderson (of Broadway's South Pacific), who starred in the Off-Broadway run of Soul Doctor, repeats his work alongside Iman (A Civil War Christmas), who makes her Broadway debut with the production. The two will take the stage at 11:30 PM. They will be joined by special guest, Soul Doctor cast member Zarah Mahler.
Here's how the evening is billed: "Backed by their very own Holy Beggar Band, witness as this duo blends their eclectic love of tasty music into an hour of soulful bliss. Featuring a rich gamut of grooves spanning from Quincy Jones to The Lumineers, this set promises to be a captivating fix of suave melodies and tuneful magic for the ears and heart. Just what the Doctor ordered."
