News South Coast Rep's Light in the Piazza Will Star Patti Cohenour, David Burnham and Erin Mackey Patti Cohenour, David Burnham and Erin Mackey will star in the South Coast Repertory Theatre production of The Light in the Piazza, which will begin performances Jan. 24, 2014, in Costa Mesa, CA.

Cohenour will star as Margaret Johnson. She originated the role of Signora Naccarelli in the Broadway production of Piazza and later took over the role of Margaret. Joining her will be Mackey (Wicked) as Clara and fellow original Broadway and national tour cast member Burnham as Fabrizio.

The cast will also include Joseph Almohaya, Julie Garnye, Mary Gutzi, Melina Kalomas, John-David Keller, Martin Kildare, Madison Mitchell, Christopher Newell, Perry Ojeda and Louis Pardo.

Directed by Kent Nicholson, The Light in the Piazza will continue through Feb. 23.

The production will have scenic design by Neil Patel, costume design by Leah Piehl, lighting design by Lap-Chi Chu, sound design by Mike Hooker, music direction by Denis Castellano and choreography by Kelly Todd.

Adam Guettel penned music and lyrics for Piazza, which has a book by Craig Lucas. The musical opened on Broadway at the Vivian Beaumont Theater April 18, 2005. It earned 11 Tony nominations and took the honors for Best Original Score, Best Actress (Victoria Clark), Best Orchestrations, Best Scenic Design, Best Costume Design and Best Lighting Design.
