PlayBlog South Pacific Over the Years (Video) As Broadway bids farewell to South Pacific yet again on Aug. 22, we thought we'd look back at some of the couples who met across a crowded room.

Our first look is original 1949 South Pacific stars Mary Martin and Ezio Pinza (as Nellie and Emile, respectively) performing "Some Enchanted Evening" during a television appearance. Both Martin and Pinza earned Tony Awards for their work in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical.

Another gem we had to include is this look at live footage of the London production of South Pacific featuring Martin and Wilbur Evans. You get a look at the original set designs, staging and choreography. Featured are "Some Enchanted Evening" and "A Wonderful Guy."

Few music stars have made themselves as at home on the Broadway stage as Reba McEntire (who famously starred in the revival of Annie Get Your Gun). In 2005 the Grammy-winning country singer co-starred with Tony winner Brian Stokes Mitchell in a concert presentation of South Pacific at Carnegie Hall. Does that perfect twang give Nellie authenticity, or what?

And finally, here's a look at Kelli O'Hara and Paulo Szot performing "Some Enchanted Evening" during an appearance on "The View." O'Hara would earn her third Tony Award nomination and Szot took home the Best Actor honor in 2008.
