News South Pacific's Watkins Completes Cast of New Musical Slut Amanda Watkins, who starred opposite Robert Goulet in the national tour of South Pacific, has joined the cast of the upcoming Off-Broadway musical Slut.

According to a production spokesperson, Watkins joins the previously announced Jenn Colella, Mary Faber, Harriett D. Foy, Andy Karl, David Josefsberg, Jim Stanek and Kevin Pariseau. Slut will begin performances Sept. 13 at the American Theatre of Actors with an official opening set for Oct. 1. The limited engagement will play through Nov. 13.

Written by Stephen Sislen and Ben H. Winters, Slut will feature direction by Gordon Greenberg, who recently helmed the acclaimed production of The Baker's Wife at the Paper Mill Playhouse.

Slut, according to production notes, concerns the story of "Adam, a single dude on a life-long quest for one- night stands; his best friend, the brilliant Doctor Dan; and the sexy rocker Delia who comes between them. Set in the East Village and around the world, this highly improbable, irreverent adventure comes with singing, dancing, partying, and raspberry margaritas."

Slut played the New York International Fringe Festival in summer 2003. It was the first show in the festival ever to sell out its entire run before the festival opened.

The creative team for the upcoming production includes Beowulf Boritt (scenic design) and Annie Kennedy (costume design). The musical is being presented by James Hammerstein Productions. Amanda Watkins has appeared on Broadway in Urinetown, Cabaret, Grease!, Cats and Beauty and the Beast. Her national tour credits include South Pacific (opposite Robert Goulet), Cabaret and Oklahoma! Watkins has also been seen in regional productions of The Sound of Music, Mirette, Damn Yankees and Can Can.

Slut will play Tuesday-Friday evenings at 8 PM, Saturdays at 4 and 8 PM and Sundays at 3 and 7 PM. Tickets, priced at $55, are available by calling (212) 239-6200.The American Theatre of Actors is located in Manhattan at 314 West 54th Street.
