After nine years away, the well-known Spanish actress Concha Velasco returns to the stage in La Rosa Tatuada (The Rose Tattoo).

The play, by Tennessee Williams, is not frequently performed in Spain. It comes to Madrid after a successful tour.

La Rosa Tatuada has been running at the Alcazar Theatre since January 15, and is produced by Velasco herself. It tells the story of Serafina, a work-obsessed seamstress who lives in a tropical area somewhere in between the Mexican Gulf and New Orleans, and manages to survive due to love.

La Rosa Tatuada's adaptation is by Vicente Molina Foix, music is by Juan Canovas and direction is by Jose Carlos Plaza. Other cast members include Osky Pimentel, Cristina Arranz and Tina Sainz.

La Rosa Tatuada runs at the Alcazar Theater, Madrid 20, Alcala Street, Wed., Fri. and Sat at 7 PM and 10:30 PM, Thu. and Sun. at 7 PM.
