Justin Waldman stages the production, which runs July 22-Aug. 2 on the Nikos Stage. "After 27 years on the same soap opera, Ada is starting to confuse her art and her life," according to press notes. "But after so many years of acting, her art is her life. Noah Haidle's poignant comedy brings us the hilarity of day-time drama alongside the harsher, but often equally funny, realities of life."

What is the Cause of Thunder? will have set design by Alexander Dodge, costume design by Nikki Moody, lighting design by Jeff Croiter and sound design and original music by Fitz Patton.

Williamstown has also announced that Paul Sparks (Hedda Gabler, Take Me Out) completes the cast of Sam Shepard's True West, which features the previously announced Nate Corddry, Stephen Kunken ("Taking Woodstock," Rock 'n' Roll) and Debra Jo Rupp (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, "That 70's Show"). Performances are July 15-26; Daniel Goldstein directs.
