News Speed-the-Plow Reading, with Alec Baldwin, Presented Feb. 28 Stage and screen star Alec Baldwin, who can currently be seen on the Emmy-winning "30 Rock," takes part in a Feb. 28 reading of David Mamet's Speed-the-Plow to benefit Road Less Traveled Productions in Buffalo, NY.

The benefit will be held at the Rockwell Hall Performing Arts Center in Buffalo. Baldwin will be joined onstage by Brian Mysliwy and Kelly Jakiel. Scott Behrend directs the 8 PM performance. "Speed-the-Plow focuses on two high-powered Hollywood executives, Charlie Fox and Bobby Gould, who have come up from the mailroom together," according to press notes. "Charlie brings Bobbie a surefire hit with a major star attached. Bobby seems certain to give the green light, until his beautiful new secretary gets involved."

A revival of Speed-the-Plow recently ended its limited engagement at Broadway's Ethel Barrymore Theatre.

Baldwin was most recently on Broadway in Twentieth Century. His other Broadway credits include A Streetcar Named Desire (Tony nomination), Serious Money and Loot (Theatre World Award). Baldwin was also nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in "The Cooler" and won an Emmy for his work in "30 Rock."
