News SPORTS SECTION: B'way Bombers Bring Theatre Management to the Plate The Broadway League is no longer the theatre district's sole softball organization. Twenty-seven representatives from the management side of the Great White Way have stepped up to the plate as the Broadway Bombers. The team is comprised of employees from Alan Wasser Associates (the general management office of Les Miz, Miss Saigon, Phantom, and others), Cameron Mackintosh, Inc., Theatre Direct International (which does group sales marketing for Broadway shows), and Dewynters (the logo designers and merchandise company for Mackintosh shows and others).

The team was founded by Wasser's Joshua Goldowsky and Nicole Hudson and will wear uniforms designed and made by Dewynters. The Bombers will arguably face stiffer competition than the Broadway Leaguers. In order to play games in the evening and not conflict with the Broadway League's daytime schedule, the back office crew has joined Tower, a corporate league. So instead of facing actors and stagehands, the Bombers will be battling corporate raiders and CEOs -- people who really want to win.

The Bombers will play their games in various venues around Manhattan including Central Park. For more information, e-mail the team at [email protected].
